Superb, thank you so much beau! Really looking forward to listening to this beautiful set! Dear Tim, I guess to avoid any suspicion, Beau does not put the composers' name in posts titles on purpose. If you look for a composer in particular, you can use the tags ("Etiquetas") at the bottom of each post: they are very useful. Plus, Beau being generous AND smart, you can also find the performers' name as well in this "etiquetas" section (he is the only one to do so!!). For instance on this post, if you click on "La Fenice", you'll find all the posts with La Fenice as performers. If you click on "Matthias Weckmann", you'll be directed to ALL albums dedicated, entirely or partially, to this composer. Etc, etc. I hope it helped! Have a good day!
laruatus, To avoid any suspicion of what? Sometimes when I am browsing the newest additions to the blog I don't even have a particular composer in mind. That's one of the nice things about this site, that you can just browse and come across a composer you haven't heard of before and make a cool new discovery for yourself.
Well done Tim, you found the one post with a tag missing! Now, more seriously, I fully agree with you: one of the nicest thing here is to be positively surprised by new discoveries! Absolutely! For this very reason, I owe Beaumarchais and his blogs a lot as well. Regarding the previous blog, I would be surprised if Beaumarchais decided to shut it himself (like really, after so many years and so much work!?). I think it is more likely that G**gle found out and decided to shut his blog. Did they receive complaints from artists regarding copyright infringement? Has someone somehow notified them? Did the blog become too popular it started to get too much attention and they found out that what was going on was not ok regarding some countries' laws? Dunno. However, almost at the same time, the same thing happened to Expanium. I do not know the reason why since then both of them, Beaumarchais and Expanium, do not use the full title of the recording and the name of the artists as titles to the posts. I can only assume that it is to avoid to get to much intention from browser and research engines. For the same reason I guess, the links are now in the comment section. I can understand your frustration, but I still think Beaumarchais is doing an amazing job here. It might not please everyone on every aspect (one can complain for not having flac, one could prefer another file host, one would like complete HD scans of the booklets and the actual disk, etc.). But at the end of the day, we could also be grateful. After all, we're not doing anything really: just getting free stuff from someone doing all the job.
Thanks laruatus for your explanation. All the points you made are very reasonable. I really do appreciate this blog because I have had no (ZERO) income for the past 5 years, am in poor health and am stuck in the house most of the time. Being able to indulge my passion for classical music is pretty much the only thing in my dreary life that gives me any enjoyment.
Saludos.
Hola, quiero agradecerte esta labor impagable. Me gustaría escribirte personalmente si no te importa.
Absolutamente cierto (I agree) lo arriba dicho: "Beaumarchais is doing an amazing job here. It might not please everyone on every aspect. But at the end of the day, we could also be grateful. After all, we're not doing anything really: just getting free stuff from someone doing all the job."
Hola Beau.!!
Why is it, when a service is provided free, gratis and at no charge, there are those who feel that they have a right to complain about minor details like tagging and demand special service, unavailable to others? It's FREE. As regards tagging, download a decent tagging program. I have a very specific way in which I like my classical files tagged, so I have to re-tag virtually every file that I download. I use TagScanner [freeware] for Windows, an excellent program that I have been using for around two years now and am still finding new functions [try the generate function for files without tagging]. It didn't take long for the five CDs of Matthias Weckmann to be perfectly tagged. Thank you for providing them and all the other riches here. On another note, Beau, I hope you are well. It amazes me that after six days with no posts, no-one has expressed concern for your health and wellbeing. Stay safe.
Hello Beau I wish you you are well I really miss your treasures you post everyday I wish you Good will soon concern for your health Stay safe I wish someone tell us any news from Beau Absence i still worry about Beau I wish to hear good news from Beau God Bless Him

Here's an example of a link that does include the composer's name:

Now if he could only do that for all the posts it would be a much better blog (like it was with the older blog that he shut down for some reason).
